Introduction
This brief study focuses upon several psychological words associated with salvation. I intend to illuminate how Jesus linked several psychological terms together to describe the spiritual changes associated with salvation. I will only focus upon a few of the psychological. words related to salvation.
Section One
συνίουσιν
διὰ τοῦτο ἐν παραβολαῖς αὐτοῖς λαλῶ, ὅτι βλέποντες οὐ βλέπουσιν
καὶ ἀκούοντες οὐκ ἀκούουσιν οὐδὲ συνίουσιν·
Matthew 23:13-14
In Matthew 23, Jesus reproved the nation of Israel for its unbelief. They had heard the words of Jesus and had seen His signs. And yet., they did not believe in Jesus.. Jesus then explained that He spoke to the people in parables. Jesus then quoted Isaiah the Prophet to them. Isaiah wrote that the people of Israel would see (βλέποντες) and not see (βλέπουσιν); and hearing (ἀκούοντες) , not hear (ἀκούουσιν , nor understand (συνίουσιν). Jesus then explained that in hearing the people do not understand (συνῆτε) and seeing they do not know (ἴδητε). Finally, Jesus said that the people had closed their Ears. Lest they should see with their eyes and with their ears, they should. Here with the. They should understand and return, and I will heal them.
